On Saturday, November 29, Webion Discovery was born, our format to truly experiment with the technologies we use every day, together with those who are eager to step up. From the very beginning, the atmosphere was just right: curiosity, a desire to understand, and the wish to build something concrete.
The journey began with a talk by Stefano Calabretti, CTO of Webion, who practically explained what Model Context Protocols (MCP) are and how we use them in real projects. Not just theory, but use cases, examples, and questions from the audience: a moment to see what goes on “behind the scenes” of the AI agents everyone is talking about. Then it was time for the code. Developer teams competed in a coding challenge with little time available and plenty of creative freedom. In just a few hours, solutions, prototypes, and ideas were born that may be just the beginning of something bigger. The best part? Seeing people who didn’t know each other before sitting at the same table, sharing screens, discussing prompts, APIs, architectures.
But the most valuable part of the day was something else:
the moments of exchange and networking between students, professionals, and enthusiasts. Those who stopped by Webion asked questions, wrote lines of code, shared doubts, insights, and curiosities. This is exactly the spirit of Webion Discovery: to grow a community of people who want to get hands-on with technology, not just hear people talk about it.
A special thanks to Davide Messori, Jacopo Zanti, and Roberto Palandri for their support and management of the event, and to everyone who chose to spend part of their Saturday with us.
This is just the first step. We look forward to seeing you at the next event: keep following us on Webion and our channels to stay updated on upcoming initiatives dedicated to AI, agents, and experimentation.
